Satinus Technologies was a lab funded by the government to create biologically engineered humans and weaponry to battle the dragon problem. Unfortunately for them, the dragons won and destroyed their laboratories and assisted in the escape of a large number of 'Tainted'. With the destruction of the lab, many of the subjects have been transferred to RSIS, awaiting training to start a task force to capture the escaped and start taking down the dragons one by one.

Genome Project

The Genome project was the precursor to all projects that came after it. The basis of the project was to introduce animal DNA into human subjects to enhance their physical abilities but very soon into experimentation their experiments started developing the ability to shape-shift. Not all genome projects are able to transform but most can take on at least a half human/half animal shape and many can fully change. This project contains any Tainted that have no more than two forms of Animal DNA.

Originally a side project of Dr. Kavanagh, this project has expanded after several recent successes. It started as a test to see if humans could not only splice with mammals but reptiles as well. Unfortunately, only one out of fourteen subjects made it through the initial project, resulting in a naga-like creature. The others died off where as the remaining snake Tainted was kept alive, being further studied for ultimate perfection. Several other attempts have been made with more success using other forms of reptile DNA.
Trinity Project

The Trinity was created to see if three different canine tainted could work together like a wolf pack. They lived, ate and trained together and for quite awhile it looked like it would be a success until the project was hit with many setbacks. The alpha was in a coma and shortly after she woke, the other members of the pack escaped in the breakout.
Insect Genomics

With the vast differences between humans and insects, this project has been created to make use of cloning and biological engineering to create true hybrids. These creations do not have the ability to transform as many of the Genome project but some can go into hibernation in a cocoon and emerge evolved.
Project Hourglass

After the discovery of human females able to give birth despite the sterilization, the Hourglass Project was made in order to investigate this abnormal happening. Most women were taken off the streets to be studied and tested on while others were made pregnant in order to follow them stage by stage to check for any differences or varied results.
Chimera Project

This project was created to test the limits of the human form - each subject is tainted with multiple forms of animal dna as well as psionic DNA. At first the project produced only failures but after a few brief glimpses of success they seemed to find a formula that worked. After the escape of Cierra and then Chessa and Kimie during the breakout, the Chimera's were shut down. The remaining subjects are left under Maeson's care but he is strictly monitored. Most of them exhibit very blatant physical changes which makes it difficult for them to hide but RSIS still cannot find them. We are not accepting new Chimeras at this time.
Draco Project

This project studies the dragons, their abilities and how to combat them. It has several divisions including one trying to develop a way to keep them contained in their human form. Only a few dragons have been able to get stuck in their disguised forms by means of chemicals and machines but, as always, scientists and researchers are looking for more suitable way of doing this. Other such developments are attempts to psychicly alter their thinking and to use their DNA in Genome projects.
Aquarius Project

Like the name suggests, the Aquarius subjects are those that have aquatic DNA. Although some can breath on land without devices, most of these require a rebreather to be out of the water. Like the chimera, many of these have multiple forms of DNA to create viable forms for fighting dragons. Please keep in mind the properties of the creatures you chose when creating an Aquarius tainted. Marine animals are very different from mammals so do your research!

A program that was scheduled to build advanced armor and weaponry so that psionics themselves could combatant against dragons with little to no worry. It's been around for quite a while but has recently just started to build up its foundations due to its head researcher, Dr. Barbas, who was recently replaced by Blake McCoy.
Metaphysics Project

The Metaphysics Division was designed with the idea of altering psionic DNA to create new powers. Most subjects in this program are orphaned psionic children. They have experimented with radiation as well as introducing multiple powers into the bloodstream. Progress has been slow as the division's funding has been minimal, results are rarely useful for military purposes. With the Genome Project demanding much more attention and notoriety, Liam Hodges has to fight for every dollar of funding he can get.

Project Longevity has been one of the first real developments since Satinus has been around but the results have been very scattered. The goal is to make the body age slower to extend the Psionic lifespan. Their first batch of guinea pigs were humans. Most of the testing failed but years have worn on and the researchers have gotten closer to finding the missing pieces of the puzzle. The most successful batches have come from manipulating dragon DNA into a serum that's used to be injected for testing. Only one dosage is needed.

Artemis Division

This division is made up of only the best and most stable candidates and their primary directive is to locate and return escaped Tainted back into custody. Their team consists of many specialized groups including those chosen for brute strength, intelligence and stealth. They are highly monitored and must clear extensive Psychiatric evaluations to qualify although it is rumored that some of the members have not been subject to the same level as others due to corruption that has leaked through to the project from Satinus. They will be working alongside specially chosen Psionic partners and headed by RSIS employees.

- Most of the Tainted were infected with a virus named X-t. This is a means of keeping tabs on the experiments because they require a shot bi-weekly in order to maintain their body chemistry. Although it is called a virus, X-t is actually nanobots that hibernate until a certain amount of time has lapsed before attacking the tainted's immune system. Each dosage is calibrated for each subject to allow for things like different metabolisms and regenerative powers. Signs that it is time to get the shot are headaches, body shakes and fever. The antidote is administered by to all tainted by RSIS but is available on the black market at a very high cost. The resistance and the Aeries also have a supply they stole during the breakout.

- If you want to taint a character IC, please notify a mod of your intent so they can help you through it. This guide is allow people get a better handle on what Satinus does. Most of the procedure is done through preliminary injections to ready the body for the selective DNA that is being introduced. These can range from hormones to different antibodies to strengthen the patient. The actual process is very short and effects of the injections start manifesting after only a few seconds since they are introducing the substance through the bloodstream.
All patients, even the most docile, will be strapped down for safety purposes. It is standard operating procedure to test every substance before injecting them to make sure there have not been any accidents. The injections start with a sedative to calm the patient. Afterward, the stabilizer is introduced which contains microbes that locate selective DNA strands. Directly after the stabilizer, the actual DNA is injected. It follows the tracer that was left by the stabilizer to begin the changes.
The stabilizer and DNA injection often causes severe reactions including but not limited to a rapid heart rate, shortness of breathe, loss of control over the nervous system, uncomfortable chest pressure, burning sensations, anxiety and numbness/loss of feeling in limbs. This is normal but can be very hard on the patient. The sedative is designed to lesson these effects and has greatly increased the success rate of these procedures. It is also common for the subject to cycle through many partial changes.
The changes are often very quick and if the patient survives the initial ten minutes, they are usually cleared for recovery. If symptoms persist, other forms of medication have to be introduced to get the patient back to a secure state. Most often, more sedatives are needed to calm the body and stop it from rejecting the new DNA. It is suggested that only one form of DNA be added at one time otherwise it is too stressful.
